June 2026 — At a Glance
This month's Society, Culture and Awards news was dominated by education (India's best-ever QS ranking, a CBSE digital-marking controversy, an eased three-language policy, and three new foreign university campuses), heritage archaeology (fresh finds at Rakhigarhi and in the Seshachalam forest), and "gift diplomacy" that carried Kalamkari, Pochampally Ikat, Dokra art and GI-tagged produce to three world capitals. No major sporting event fell in this specific month's source, but a record 11 Jharkhand products won GI tags, and India logged two firsts — its first FATF Vice President and its first batch of NDA-trained women officers commissioned directly.
